Sympathy For Delicious revolves around ‘Delicious’ Dean O’Dwyer (Christopher Thornton), an up-and-coming DJ whose music career is stalled after an accident leaves him in a wheelchair. Consequently, he lives in his car on Skid Row and shuns pretty much everyone. That’s until he accidentally stumbles across his unique ability to cure people simply by laying his hands on them. The catch though, is that he can’t heal himself (now that sucks!). Suddenly, he’s a lot more popular and is being used by Father Joe (Mark Ruffalo) to cure others at the shelter where he aids others who are struggling. But Delicious hasn’t shaken that desire to pursue musical superstardom and soon, he runs away with a rock band and becomes the main attraction of their show. But living the rock ‘n’ roll life soon lands Delicious in trouble. Sympathy For Delicious is an interesting mix of religion, comedy, drama and music.
